Of the above, approximately 950 tanks were Mk I and II, and thus little more than armored cars, and 84 were special flamethrower tanks. The effective panzer strength was approximately 2,500. The Pz Mk 1 weighed 5.5 tons, had a two-man crew, and was armed with two 7.92 machineguns; the Pz Mk 2 weighed 11.5 tons, had a three-man crew, and was armed with a 20mm gun and a 7.92 machinegun.
