Mr. Crofoot has been a Order of Battle Specialist for 25 years. After starting as a amateur, both as a civilian and the US Army, he became an Military Intelligence Analyst in the US Army in 1982. For the next four years, he served as a Battalion Intelligence Specialist in a Mechanized Infantry Battalion S-2, then as part of G-2 Section of a Divisional Forward Tactical Command Post. He maintained that section's order of battle files for the entire Western Theater of Operations of the Warsaw Pact.
After leaving the US Army, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1989. Since then, he has continued to collect the orders of battle for the USSR. He currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
