TIGER LILY BOOKS
CATALOG News
Thanks to a microgrant of $300 plus money retained from sales, and also
the generous donation of their royalties to Tiger Lily Books by authors
Adrian J. English and Terry Shifflett, we are bringing out six new
books; four of which are already available for Amazon's Kindle and will
be available in print of E-book form this week. The last two will be
ready next week.
We have been given a second microgrant of $300. The two
books we will publish with this are already lined up for Fall 2008.
We are looking for two more MSS for Fall/Winter 2008. Please contact if
you have anything of interest. July 4, 2008

Tiger Lily Books is a division of General Data LLC. We publish historical military orders of battle. We
are tied up with a distributor of global reach who also handles E-Book
versions of our books.
-
We take advantage of short-run book printing
technology to avoid inventories, and we run a zero overhead operation.
In this manner we can break even on sales as few as 25 copies per
title, first-class production and finish.
-
We welcome obscure orbats [minimum 96 pages,
maximum no limit] or material of no commercial interest that might
otherwise not be published .
IF YOU HAVE UNPUBLISHED ORBATS
-
We'd be delighted if you'd consider working with us.
-
For each title printed, the author/s will get 5
complimentary copy/copies.
-
If we sell more than 24 copies, you are entitled to a
15% royalty per copy sold.
-
If we advertise your book, the breakeven will
increase, but we will always get your permission first so you know
when you may expect royalties.
-
Your book is automatically entered in our
distributor's electronic catalog and we pay a yearly charge to
maintain the listing.
-
Books are usually available for sale within 10 days of
your sending us a finished MSS in Adobe
-
Our distributor does not ask for a minimum print order
which it then keeps in its warehouse. Copies are printed as orders
arrive.
FORMAT
-
At this time we expect you will send us an electronic
file that does not require editing/proofing beyond pagination, titles,
tables of content etc. Getting proof copies increases our cost twice:
the charges for the copy, and the new "set-up" charge. You can, of
course, send us an amended copy with corrections, additions, new facts
etc. for the next printing.
-
If you intend to use footnotes and are unfamiliar with
footnoting using MS Word, please let us know.
-
You can use any authoring program, but the product you
send us should be an MS Word file.
-
Generally, we use a paper size of 537 X 697 pixels,
with 11 point Times Roman. The
page setup adjustment is easily made in Word. This size is equivalent
to 7.44 X 9.69 inches. Margins should be 72 points top, bottom, let,
right. Tab stops at 36 points. Page formatting outside.
-
We avoid color to reduce costs to the minimum.
-
We suggest a minimum of 96 content pages, which can
include charts, maps etc.
