1/1st South Midland Mounted Brigade. (In May 1915 the brigade was renamed to 1st (1/1st South Midland) Mounted Brigade. Amalgamated with the 2nd (1/2nd South Midland) Mounted Brigade Sep - Dec 1915 to form the 1st Composite Mounted Brigade. When the 2nd Mounted Division was broken up the brigade became the 5th Mounted Brigade).

1st and 2nd Composite Mounted Brigades.

These two brigades were formed Sep - Dec 1915. The 1st Composite Mounted Brigade was made up from the 1/1st and 1/2nd South Midland Mounted Brigades and consisted of the 1st and 2nd South Midland Regiments, each regiment being made up an amalgamation of the three yeomanry regiments in the brigade. The 2nd Composite Mounted Brigade was made up in the same was but consisted of the 3rd Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment and the 4th London Regiment.

1/1st Scottish Horse Mounted Brigade. (Joined the division Sep 1915, left the division 22 Dec 1915 and went to Egypt where it was absorbed by the 1st Dismounted Brigade).

1/1st Highland Mounted Brigade. (Joined the division Sep 1915, left the division 22 Dec 1915 and went to Egypt where it was absorbed by the 2nd Dismounted Brigade).
